PaperFlip is a free online tool for converting Word documents to PDF and PDF files to Word. It was built for students, freelancers and office workers who need a quick conversion without installing software or creating an account.
How it's different
Most converters upload your file to a server. PaperFlip does the conversion inside your own browser, so your documents never leave your device. We never see, store or read them.

PaperFlip is free to use. It is supported by ads and by recommendations of tools we find useful, some of which are affiliate links.

Your files
Files you convert are processed entirely in your browser. They are not uploaded to our servers, and we have no access to their contents.
Information we collect
We collect the minimum needed to run the site: basic usage data such as pages visited, browser type, device type and approximate country, collected through analytics and advertising services. If you subscribe to Pro, we collect your email address. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never receive or store your full card details.
Local storage
We store small pieces of information in your browser, such as how many free conversions you've used today and whether you have Pro. This data stays on your device and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Cookies and advertising
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

The service
PaperFlip lets you convert Word (.docx), Excel and image files to PDF, and PDF files to Word. Conversion quality depends on the original file; complex layouts, images or fonts may not be preserved exactly. PDF to Word conversion currently transfers text only. Images to PDF places each image on its own A4 page. Excel to PDF converts cell values into tables; charts and cell colours are not kept.
Your content
You keep all rights to the files you convert. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to convert and use them.
Acceptable use
Don't use PaperFlip to break the law, infringe others' rights, or interfere with the site, for example by automated mass use or attempts to bypass the free plan's limits.
PaperFlip Pro
Pro is a paid subscription billed monthly or yearly. It renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. Refund requests made within 7 days of a first payment will be honoured.
No warranty
PaperFlip is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that conversions will be perfect. Always keep a copy of your original file.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PaperFlip is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the site.
Third-party links
The site contains ads and links to other websites. We aren't responsible for their content or practices.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continuing to use PaperFlip after a change means you accept the new terms.
